Postdoctoral Research Associate in Food & Nutrition Policy

About the Role

The purpose of this role is to provide qualitative and quantitative research support for an MRC funded applied global health research project: Sierra Leone Research and Action on Salt and Hypertension (SLASH). This project brings together expert academic teams and wider stakeholders to develop policy interventions to reduce salt intake to prevent high blood pressure, heart disease and stroke in Sierra Leone (SL). We will support the Ministry of Health SL by collecting the data necessary to design evidence-based interventions.

The role will be responsible for supporting MRC SLASH Principal Investigator with the day-to-day running of the project.

About You

The successful candidate will have a degree and PhD (or close to completion) or research qualification/experience equivalent to PhD level in the relevant subject area for the research programme; with a productive track record and have experience covering the full range of duties required.

Our priority is to improve population health and reduce inequalities by developing, implementing and evaluating effective and equitable initiatives in women’s health, global health, the food environment and individual lifestyle.
