About the Role

The Postdoctoral research Assistant will join the teams led by Dr Rouault-Pierre & Dr Ana Rio-Machin (Nat Com 2015, 2019, 2020; Cell Stem Cell, 2013; Signal Transduct Target Ther, 2023; Leukemia 2013, 2017, 2018, 2020, 2022, 2024; BJH, 2022, 2024; Sci Trans Med 2022, 2023; Haematologica 2012, 2017) to investigate the contribution of germline variants to the development of haematological diseases in order to improve the diagnosis, early detection and management of familial cases, as well as to unravel new oncogenic mechanisms.


About You

We are seeking a highly-motivated researcher with or to be near completion of a PhD in molecular biology, genomics, bioinformatics or a relevant discipline with expertise in data analysis and omics approaches. Experience in haematology and/or cancer would be desirable.

The Barts Cancer Institute (BCI) is a Cancer Research UK Centre of Excellence whose work aims to transform the lives of those with and at risk of cancer through innovative research in the laboratory, in patients and in populations. It is one of six institutes within The Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry (FMD) BCI is internationally renowned in many areas of cancer research and it combines ground-breaking basic research with the expertise of clinicians and clinician scientists from the Centre for Experimental Cancer Medicine and the Barts NHS Trust to achieve improvements in cancer patient care. BCI is also a partner in the CRUK City of London Major Centre (together with UCL, Kings and the Francis Crick Institute) which is a Centre of Excellence in Biotherapeutics.  BCI is committed in supporting and developing future cancer researchers through its extensive postgraduate training.
