Research Fellow in Health Data Science

About the Role

Applications are invited for a Research Fellow in Health Data Science to conduct high-quality research and develop methodologies to gain insight into health disparities throughout the life course using electronic health records. The candidate will lead or contribute to developing statistical or machine learning based methods to quantify the health inequalities at both individual- and system-level. The candidate will use routinely collected national and regional data from sources such as The Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD) and Hospital Episode Statistics. They will also assist researchers in managing and accessing CPRD data through a multi study license.

About You

You will be a highly motivated post-doctoral researcher with significant experience of conducting quantitative research and analysis in a health-related field (e.g. diabetes, cardiovascular disease), and have a good understanding of health inequalities. You will have experience of working with large scale routine health data or longitudinal cohorts, and experience of developing and applying statistical and epidemiological analytic approaches for applied health research. You will have a strong track record of publications and contribution to grants.

The post is based at the Whitechapel campus in London. It is a 1.0 FTE appointment, for 24 months.  The starting salary will be £42,405-£49,785 pro rata per annum (pro-rata) on the Research (Grade 5) Scale.
