About the Role
We invite applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate positions to participate in the project "Geometric Flows and Dynamics of Phase Transitions" funded by the EPSRC. The research will be undertaken under the direction of Dr Huy The Nguyen (PI). This project seeks to advance the understanding of the singularity formation in the Mean Curvature Flow and their relation to phase transitions via the Allen-Cahn Flow.
The successful applicant should possess excellent knowledge of geometry and analysis, preferably with previous research experience in geometric analysis such as geometric heat flows, geometric measure theory, and/or semilinear partial differential equations. A proven track record of conducting high level research and writing high quality research papers is also expected.

About the School
The School of Mathematical Science has an exceptionally strong research presence across the spectrum of mathematics. The School has large and popular undergraduate and graduate programmes, and aims to continue to expand its research profile as well as its study programmes across both UG and PGT. This position will be based in the Centre for Geometry, Analysis and Gravitation.
The School comprises 85 academic staff and associate lecturers, 16 research assistants and 14 members of professional services staff. The School is home to around 80 PhD students, and approximately 1,000 undergraduates and 100 master level students.

Benefits
The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London. It is full-time, fixed term appointment for 24 months, with an expected start date of 1st September 2024 with some flexibility. The starting salary will be Grade 4, in the range of £40,223-£42,405 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
